TORONTO, ON – xwave, an Aliant Company (TSX: AIT), announced today it has entered into an alliance agreement with Plato Group Inc. to market and support a software product designed to protect the confidentiality of personal information.

Under the agreement, Plato will licence its Camouflage application for installation in xwave’s test environment. In return, Plato will gain access to xwave’s PeopleSoft project expertise, enabling the company to further develop and refine its product. The two companies plan to target the solution at PeopleSoft HR installations and upgrades across North America and in Ireland.

Camouflage is a data masking software application that allows the creation of copies of production databases that contain realistic information and maintain database integrity, while disguising personal and other sensitive information. Using the tool in conjunction with a PeopleSoft implementation or upgrade project allows drastic reductions in the exposure of confidential information, facilitates compliance with privacy policies and legislation, improves the ability to conduct thorough software testing and training, and allows increased overall project efficiency and timeliness. While initially deployed for PeopleSoft applications, the tool has been designed to function with a variety of ERP software applications and database types.

xwave’s expertise in PeopleSoft is built on many years of successful implementation and upgrades. Currently, for example, the company is implementing a PeopleSoft 8.8 Financial upgrade for the City of Greater Sudbury. xwave has also recently completed an HR upgrade to 8.8 for Community Living Toronto, an organization which supports people with intellectual disabilities. For Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), xwave helped implement three PeopleSoft product suites: Financials, HRMS, and the Student Administration system. The company has since provided NSCC with key services related to infrastructure support and application management, and has recently entered into a five-year outsourcing contract with the College. The company has also exported its PeopleSoft services to Ireland for the Government of Ireland’s Department of Agriculture, and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
