Halifax Data Centre is the First Facility in Canada to Host
SAP Managed Services for Global Clients
HALIFAX, Nova Scotia—SAP Managed Services, a services organization of SAP AG (NYSE:SAP), has selected xwave, the IT division of Bell Aliant (TSX: BA.UN), to offer hosting and application management services to small, midsize and enterprise clients around the world.
Through SAP Managed Services, SAP experts evaluate, implement and manage SAP® solutions so that clients can concentrate on their core business, gain maximum value from their solutions and improve operations management. xwave will deliver a complete managed services solution in support of hosted SAP applications in Canada. The solution encompasses all aspects of SAP Canada’s hosting environment: secure data-centre facilities; a 24/7 service desk; server management; network management; account and service management; and product fulfillment.
“The Halifax facility is the first in Canada for SAP Managed Services, and marks yet another important step forward for SAP Canada, our clients, and our partners,” said Robert Courteau, president and managing director, SAP Canada. “It provides Canadian and global companies with a cost-effective option to swiftly take advantage of SAP’s market-leading software solutions. It also expands our Canadian footprint, which includes a 320-person R&D facility in Montreal, a retail software development centre in Toronto, and five offices across the country.”
SAP chose xwave, one of Canada’s largest providers of information and communications technology (ICT), to be its partner for the new facility due to its outstanding capabilities, industry expertise, and reputation. xwave has 30 years of experience providing managed services to some of Atlantic Canada’s largest organizations, and operates one of the region’s largest and longest-serving enterprise resource planning (ERP) practices.
“Reinforced by the considerable capabilities of Bell Aliant, we are well-equipped to serve as Canada’s hosting partner to SAP,” said Paul Kent, chief operating officer, xwave. “We look forward to providing its clients with exceptional services, and to jointly pursuing new annuity-based business.”
